'Roma' is a popular small smooth bright red oval shaped fruit. They are prolific fruiters on compact bushes.
'Roma' tomatoes are favoured by preservers. They have firm flesh and few seeds making them ideal for bottling, cooking, sauces, pastes and drying.
Verticillium and fusarium wilt tolerant.
I cannot stress how impressed I am with the quantity of food that comes from these plants.
Tomato - 'Roma'
Tomatoes prefer open sunny positions and are sensitive to frosts. Mulch them well and water in furrows rather than overhead to reduce disease. Consistent watering is required - they hate to be waterlogged however they are prone to blossom end rot if allowed to dry out too much between watering.
They grow well on light to heavy soils with good drainage and high organic matter and phosphorus.
Find a new spot for your Solanum family each year or so (Tomatoes, Capsicum, Chillis, Eggplant, Spuds) to prevent disease.
