'Glaskins Perpetual' produces large, long stemmed, bright red stalks which are juicy and hold good flavour. It's a very reliable variety which is quick to establish and can be harvested over a longer period than most other rhubarb varieties.
It's a perennial from the cooler parts of Asia which grows to 1m. Yummy cooked with apples as a dessert or made into a fruity summer drink.

Feed heavily and water regularly for a long, bumper crop.
Don't eat the leaves as they contain oxalic acid.
Always harvest the outside stems first to ensure continual supply.
Divide plants once established (every three or four years should be OK)
